Born and based in London, Vivienne Francis started painting at an early age. Almost entirely self-taught,

Vivienne is a painter of portraits in the classical tradition. After an early career in antiques restoration and

mural painting, she has devoted herself to being a full-time professional portrait artist. Vivienne prefers to

use oils when working, as she loves their incomparable clarity, richness of colour and depth of tone.

A meticulous craftswoman, her fascination for realism is evident in her beautifully detailed portrait paintings.

Working from life and photographs, she always pays close attention to quality, sensitivity and costume detail.

Above all, Vivienne specialises in capturing a true likeness of the subject.
